Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
If you enter a name or birth date in a search tool, the information is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results; Morgan County Warrant Records does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. We keep those communications within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive limited technical and usage details when a visitor loads a page:
- Page-view times and the pages visited
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- The device's IP address
- Time spent on individual pages
- A referring website, when one is reported
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved to a device and may be used to understand site traffic, including popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers help combine this information into usage reports. You may block cookies through browser settings, although doing so can change how some features operate.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Maintaining site availability and performance
- Understanding which pages are useful or need revision
- Routing search submissions to the appropriate outside provider
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Warrant Data on File
Morgan County Warrant Records does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a warrant database or personal warrant-record files. It provides general directions to the Morgan County Sheriff's warrant channel, the Morgan County Circuit Court and Circuit Clerk, the District Court, and municipal courts that maintain or issue relevant records. Alabama has no public statewide warrant-search system identified in the project research. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or dossiers about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate search boxes that may appear elsewhere on the website. Information submitted there is governed by the provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices, so review those terms before entering information.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, Alabama court resources, legal-aid organizations, or third-party services. Once you follow an external link, the destination's privacy rules apply. Review them before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own technology to recognize activity across websites and select interest-based advertising. That processing occurs on the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and site performance
- Search partners that process submitted queries
- Advertising networks that deliver ads on these pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when valid legal process compels disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Common security safeguards are used to protect collected information. No internet-connected service is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as having been submitted by a minor will be deleted.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide additional rights concerning personal data. Alabama Code § 36-12-40 governs an Alabama resident's general right to inspect and copy public writings, subject to legal and public-safety exceptions, while § 36-12-45 establishes the standard public-record request and residency-certification framework. Those statutes concern records held by Alabama public officers; they do not convert this private site into a public agency. With respect to information controlled by this website, you may:
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Ask for a copy of personal information held about you
- Opt out of certain processing when that option applies
- Request deletion of your personal information
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised periodically. Any new version will be posted on this page and identified by an updated effective date.
